How to STOP Overthinking 10 Minute Meditation
Welcome to Moview’s blog of 10 minute meditation to stop overthinking. Sit down in a comfortable position, close your eyes and put your hands on your lap, palms face down. And focus your attention on breathing. Breathe in deeply… and out… As your body expands on each breath in… and deflates on each breath out… And you don’t need to force your breath or restrict it in any way. Just allow your breathing to always be smooth and natural. Allow your muscles from the tips of your toes to the top of your head to become slack, letting gravity take over and just relax. And allow each deep breath in to feel satisfying and complete, and be grateful for each breath you are taking, for it is helping you to be alive and in this moment and stay focused on the breath as it seeps through your body, refreshing every part of your being, as you continue focusing on the present moment and on this one simple act of taking deeply satisfying breaths, in… and out… And while allowing the breathing to continue, speak the following words in your mind to affirm that “I am here.” “I am in my body.” “I am relaxed and clear my mind.” by taking care of your physical and mental health you can continued on present and focused. And allow yourself to observe the thoughts that have been running through your mind by stepping back from them and allowing them to float past freeing you from their connection and becoming only an observer and know that it’s okay to be having these thoughts and is a perfectly normal experience to be having and just take a moment to accept forgiveness for yourself for having these thoughts. And as thoughts pop up, it’s easy to bring focus back to your breath and body and observe those thoughts from a distance within your own mind without judging them or yourself for having those thoughts in the first place as you allow that forgiveness to resonate throughout your being. And with your powerful imagination, imagine yourself bathing in a calming light glowing all around you and through you as you imagine this calming ambient light to be soothing and comforting and filling you with a sense of peace and tranquility, aren’t you? And take note of what colour your calming light is and its brightness and allow the light all around you and within you as you tune in to its relaxing and calming qualities. And focus on the feeling of the calm light surrounding you and connect into your breath and your body the peaceful tranquility, noticing the thoughts you were thinking are becoming more distant as they float past and away separating from you and your mind as they become their own entities on their own path of which you no longer need to partake and can let them go on their way outside of your awareness, knowing that if there is a particularly important thought that you absolutely must think, only that one thought will make its way to your greater awareness as you inhabit this calm and relaxed state of mind and being, allowing your awareness to return to your breath and knowing that it’s okay to just relax in this moment. And as you breathe, notice how your body becomes more and more relaxed with each breath, allowing your breathing to become even slower and noticing the soothing and calming light that surrounds you, as if it were touching and soothing every part of your mind and body as you allow yourself to deeply relax and discover what that means to you… As you are feeling more and more relaxed, bathing in that soft tranquility of this most serene moment, and all those thoughts you used to think, no longer in your awareness are floating through the ether outside of your perception and leaving you in this peaceful state of tranquil calm. And speaking the following words in your mind to affirm that “I am free from unwelcome thoughts.” “I allow all but the most important thoughts to float by outside of my awareness.” “I am able to relax and clearing my mind whenever I choose.” And feel your mind and body relaxing into the calming light surrounding you, that’s right. Just let go and relax. And you can choose to stay in this relaxed state now for as long as you wish or wake up returning your calm awareness to the place you are. And whenever you are read, allow your consciousness to return, wiggling your fingers and your toes and gently returning life and energy to all your muscles, slowly opening your eyes while staying connected to this peaceful feeling as you return your awareness to the world can continue with your day.
